Could ten days at a health resort really change you forever?
These nine perfect strangers are about to find out...

The story centres around a remote health resort offering a chance to improve the wellbeing of the guests. From losing weight to boosting their health and lifestyle and saving a marriage, the nine patrons all have their own reasons for visiting, some don't even know the true reasons they have gone. The spa offers huge lifestyle changes and massive results if they are willing to put in the work...... But how much work is too much?

I absolutely loved this book!! There were so many twists and turns and unexpected deviations! Of all Liane Moriarty's books I have read, this one kept me guessing till the very end but in a way that made me want to keep reading rather than in frustration!

The story was told from different characters perspectives (similar to her book Truly Madly Deeply) but there was also a sense of one main protagonist being Frances the first character you meet in the tale. I found Frances to be a quirky, enjoyable character who drew me in from the beginning. I decided that if I met her at a retreat we would become firm friends! Frances was a romance novelist and so was naturally inquisitive, she explored the nature of the other guests at the retreat using her writers perception. This gave the reader an insight into their personality's from her perspective which contrasted well with the chapters written from their own point of view.

All the characters had their own complex history, which slowly unfurled as the story progressed, and were each embarking on a journey of self discovery. They had a myriad of reasons for attending the retreat, some obvious and some hidden but none of them realised the full extent of what thy were signing up for. The climatic experiences of the wellness retreat were certainly unexpected for all involved!

I have read a few of Liane Moriarty's books and have found them all to be totally different. She doesn't write the same types of stories and always keeps you wondering throughout. Never quite revealing all the information until the very end. She is an author I would recommend.

This was a definite 5 star read. One I couldn't put down, despite the late hour and the threat of having to be up early for work!

I have The Hypnotists Love Story next on my TBR so watch this space for a review on that!
